WoolWax® states that its Original formula is designed to provide long-term corrosion protection. How long the coating remains in a specific area depends heavily on exposure to road wash, salt, abrasion, vehicle use, and driving conditions.
WoolWax® describes the Original formula as providing long-term protection in the 2–3 year range.
WoolWax® recommends exposed underbody areas generally be re-treated every other year or as needed based on use and environment.
Enclosed areas such as doors and frame rails are protected from direct road wash and can retain treatment considerably longer.

Vehicles with extensive coating loss, significant contamination, newly installed components, unusual wear, or an extended period since the previous service may require additional treatment or a complete service. Any additional cost will be discussed before work begins.

Does WoolWax® really last 2–3 years?
WoolWax® describes its Original formula as providing 2–3 years of long-term protection. The manufacturer also states that exposed underbody areas should generally be re-treated every other year or as needed. Actual service life depends on the vehicle and its use.
Do I need another complete application every year?
Not necessarily. WoolWax® is a maintenance coating. Many protected areas can retain material much longer than exposed high-wash areas. ForgePoint's maintenance program focuses on inspection and targeted replenishment rather than automatically repeating the entire initial service.
Why inspect the vehicle annually if the coating can last about two years?
Inspection and reapplication are not the same thing. An annual inspection allows high-wear areas to be identified early and helps determine whether a touch-up is actually needed based on the vehicle's condition.
Does old WoolWax® need to be removed before maintenance?
WoolWax® states that existing product does not need to be removed before maintenance. The surface can be cleaned as appropriate and fresh material applied over the remaining coating.
